2009 is going to bring some exciting things! I can see some major transitions that will be taking place in the coming months and then I know there are transitions that will surprise me that I do not see coming. Some of the changes and new directions are HUGE and many details still have to be worked out before I can even talk about them with clarity. So today, I’m wondering, when you’ve had a specific upcomign transition, how did you approach it, or how do you approach it? Or, what is something valuable you have learned through a major transition in your life? Maybe it was a change of career, or a major move, a bigger step in leadership, an addition to your family, etc…Join the Conversation, today I want to learn from you…I’m all ears!

Nick,
This is Bro Dolphus and Sis Blondie’s eldest son. First of all HAPPY NEW YEAR and you have a beautiful family.
I must agree with you about TRANSITIONS that are to take place in ’09. For me (as well as many others in the Body of CHRIST) changes began to take place in ’08. I believe that GOD is calling His people (emphasis on HIS) NOT church people (there is definitely a difference) back to Himself. So, to answer your question about how to approach/how do I approach transitions: I AM doing everything that I can to keep my eyes FOCUSED on GOD through the LORD JESUS CHRIST by the HOLY SPIRIT. I know that this sounds like a “church answer”, but that is how I made it through ’08 and I believe that is how we will all make it through to see JESUS return. The transitions are going to require FOCUS. I’ll close with this analogy: In a basketball game the team with the best “transition game” is most likely the team that will be the victor when the final horn sounds. The reason for this is because they were/are able to change from one end of the floor (defense to offense or vice versa) with speed and efficiency. This takes FOCUS — corporate and individual as each member of the team does his/her part. In ’09 we must have a good “transition game” through being FOCUSED on GOD and doing our part as workers together with Him (2 Corinthians 6:1).
peace peace

Lately we have been going through many transitions in our lives. But probably the biggest is the transition from my husband being the main bread winner of our home, and me being the one who stays and takes care of our children and home; to the complete opposite. Some…okay ALOT of aspects of that scares the crap out of me, but mostly I honestliy feel excited that this is my chance to give him a much needed breather….well, somewhat.
Plus, I get to make money by doing what I love most. He was at a job just for a paycheck. I think we’ll both be much happier in our new roles.
