Here’s a recap from this weekend:
- Friday was awesome for two reasons:
#1 I was off.
#2 TCAG put on our bi-annual Movie on The Lawn for the community, we had over 2,000 people from the community show up! - Movie on the Lawn is a night where we show a free movie on a huge screen at our community outdoor amphitheater. We give free popcorn, free drinks, free sno-cones, and sometimes free hotdogs to all who attend. Its a huge bridge event for our church.
- Saturday, I went to breakfast at Sunrise Grill with Nicki, that’s our Saturday morning breakfast date, we don’t miss it unless we are out of town. I don’t let anything interfere with this “date” as Nicki loves it there.
- After breakfast, I went to Covington, GA to visit with my grandparents, my grandpa has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, and he has fallen a lot recently. He will be 83, soon, and God has allowed him to be a strong pillar for our family. A very godly man who loves God and loves his family. He is truly a man’s man, and I credit him for being a great role model to me and to my other cousins, to the family in general.
- It was also great to see my uncle Harley and his family, my sister was there, and my uncle Kevin who just moved back to the Atlanta area from Los Angeles to be with my grandparents.
- Sunday rocked at TCAG!!! I didn’t get to be in the service as it was my first week overseeing our host teams and I was filling some holes we have right now. We had a ton of first time visitors, I saw a couple of families who were new who came to the Movie on the Lawn, so that was cool! Worth all the popcorn and drinks we dished out! We partitioned off our auditorium so it would look fuller during the services…we partitioned off too much! We had to move the curtains back to have enough seats for everyone who came, what a great problem to have!
- Sunday afternoon made for a great Easter. We had a cookout with our family, had an egg hunt for the kids…it was good.

Hey Nick, like the blog. Was thinking of doing some Movie on the Lawn events this spring/summer. If you’d share some more with me about how you do it. Do you have a large screen? Is there any licensing issues?
